Interviewer - congratulations that was an amazing afternoon delivery, how are you feeling?

L.P.S. - yeah pretty good, we’ve been working hard all year to make sure our customers get the service our clients pay for. Today was no exception, the weather early on was pretty rotten but we have the flexibility to deliver any time of the day. We held off for a few hours and when the sun came out we made hay.

Interviewer - the stats we’ve seen for today are mind blowing, can you talk us through that?

L.P.S. - most delivery firms would say mind blowing as they are unable to deliver the same day as collection but to us it’s just normal, par for the course. We had 143 items to deliver, 52 of which we only received today and 30 of them were on the budget service. 5 parcels all recieved and delivered same day. Just a standard delivery.

Interviewer - phenomenal stuff, it’s probably come at a price tho, price of petrol ⛽️ these days?

L.P.S. - we deliver by bicycle, so there’s no petrol costs, everything we do we try and do as sustainably as possible. Actually, I can let you into a little secret by August 2025 we will be net zero the first mail and parcel service in the Uk to be net zero and it’s only available here at our home ground Wirral.

Interviewer - so you can deliver more efficiently same day, more sustainably with bike deliveries, this must be a premium service and more expensive than the national companies?

L.P.S. - amazingly for all of our clients we are a minimum 25% cheaper than any other courier. We realised over 2 years ago that mail and parcel prices were out of control. Also due to mail volumes large corporate firms were able to send mail far cheaper than local businesses which already gives them an unfair advantage. By allowing local businesses to get their local mail delivered cheaper it simply balances the scales with the giants they are trying to compete with.

Interviewer - well this has left me flabbergasted, how far do you think you can go in this competition?

L.P.S. - we just do what we do day in day out, we don’t stop delivering our budget mail every other day, we don’t stop delivering on Saturdays. If our clients pay for priority post over 65% gets delivered within 5 hours, 100% by the following day, it’s just what we have done since we started 2 years ago.

Interviewer - just to touch on technology and it’s cost to implement, has that not set you back?

L.P.S. - we have a zero tolerance to technology, it’s what has slowed the whole process down. Companies are more interested in harvesting data than just delivering. To protect our clients and their customers GDPR we don’t use technology in any of our processes. Our view is that we can’t ever have a data breach, as we store no data to breach.
