2025 - July to December, what to expect!!!

In a Facebook post earlier this week, I promised I would reveal more about why we don’t mark our mail with 1st or 2nd class or Gold and silver for Local Postal Solutions. Firstly as mentioned it’s to not shame our customers options of how they want to send their mail. From the many conversations I have with business owners the truth is they’ve stopped sending mail because 1st class is too expensive and sending 2nd class to potential clients appears cheap, or somehow makes the business look like they don’t value their prospective clients by not making their mail a priority.

Another reason we don’t mark our mail with its class of service, and this is the big reveal, is because by the end of 2025 classes of mail in Local Postal Solutions will no longer exist. There won’t be a gold and silver class it will just be “LPS class”. And this is how it is going to work and it’s also a semi reveal of how we operate.

Wirral will be split into two, roughly it will be like this.

North split - CH41 and CH43 to CH49

South split - CH42 and CH60 to CH63 and CH64, CH65 and CH66 to be introduced gradually after a settling in period.

These splits will then be split into two loops.

North Split/1 is CH41,43,44,45 and North Split/2 is CH46,47,48,49

South Split/1 is CH42,62,63 (65,66) and South Split/2 is CH60,61 (64)

Monday - split 1

Tuesday - split 2

Wednesday - split 1

Thursday - split 2

Friday - split 1

Saturday - split 2

That’s about as much as we are going to share, but what it amounts to is a maximum 48 hour delivery service. We call at a business on Monday collect mail when we return on Wednesday 48 hours later every item they sent on Monday has been delivered and the cycle starts again.

One class of mail “LPS class” a complete 48 hour service. And the most amazing thing about this service is the price. A 1st class delivery will currently cost you £1.70 and there’s a fair chance it won’t get delivered in 48 hours. Although our price hasn’t been set I can almost guarantee you now that our 48 hour LPS class will be at least 50% cheaper than your current 1st class price. Businesses that currently send first class mail could see their postal costs to the Wirral halved. It’s only happening on the Wirral and it only happens if you support it.
