It’s a momentous occasion as our “Local Postal Box” is launched……………….permanently. It’s always been our long term vision to ensure every Wirral resident is able to access our Wirral mail network. And tomorrow we start laying the foundations for this to be realised. So many people who used last years Christmas post box have been asking our hosts if it’s coming back or available all year round. It is and it will be. We know it needs to be a gradual process to allow the huge logistics of this operation to sync into our hugely successful Wirral mail network. We hope that every month we will be able to add a minimum of 1 “Local Postal Box” location to eventually form a network connecting every postcode on the Wirral. It’s ground breaking, and it will spotlight Wirral as the home of Local Postal Solutions and put us on the pinnacle of this innovative approach to reduce mail costs on a local level.
Since we started 14 months ago, we have always dreamt big and this is our most ambitious dream to date. And the most amazing thing is that it’s not about us, it’s about every Wirral resident and every local business that’s a post box host uniting as a community to build a network that Wirral can be proud of. And by supporting this idea your also contributing to some of our amazing Wirral charities. For the remainder of 2024 every letter posted through “Local Postal Box” will generate 10p towards the most exceptional Wirral charity based in New Brighton “Charlottes Brightside”. I was invited to visit Charlottes Brightside to see first hand the amazing work they carry out for the local community and beyond. It was emotional, it was humbling but most of all it was absolutely inspiring to see the kindness, generosity dedication and hard work that goes into this phenomenal charity. For us to bring everyone together as a community, save money on our local post through our “Local Postal Box” hosts, whilst raising money for good causes is an honour and a privilege.
If you are in receipt of one of the leaflets on the cover of this blog, flip it over to reveal the local business local to you which is hosting your nearest “Local Postal Box”. Drop your Wirral post in and allow 5 working days for delivery. If you often read my blogs you know I love a stat, so here’s what to expect when you post.
Despite being our budget mail delivery 10% of your mail will be delivered the same day as collection. No other mail network can deliver same day.
By the next day over 35% of post will have been delivered.
By day 2 over 60% of your mail would have been delivered.
By day 3 over 85% of your mail would have been delivered.
The remaining 15% will be delivered on day 4 or day 5..
As a new business we are constantly evolving and our aim is to reduce the 5 working day service down to 3 working days (we are within weeks of achieving this) but obviously over the busy Christmas period we anticipate a maximum 5 working day delivery.
Please share, like, talk about what we are doing. We are doing this for the Wirral and to improve how we send mai in cost, efficiency and with our bike deliveries and the omission of automated sorting (which incurs a minimum 40 mile round trip) more eco-friendly.
Not just a postman.
