These three clients have all joined in the last few months and the one thing that links them all is they are all from an amazing networking group I started going along too 3 months ago. “In the loop” is a networking group like no other, it’s free. It only started in early 2024 and now has a directory of well over 150 local businesses. It’s opened many doors for Local Postal Solutions and I know it has for other members of the group too. The directory can put you in contact with nearly any kind of business you may need, and if it can’t there are plenty of members who may recommend someone that they have had a positive experience with. We meet once a month at a different venues for food, drink and friendly business chat. It really has been a revelation for us, has pulled in new business and helped put us on the map.
We started doing deliveries for Fancy Some Cake about 2 months ago. If you haven’t sampled any of their cakes, I strongly urge you to find one of the growing number of outlets both on the Wirral and in Liverpool that are stocking their amazing cakes. Fortunately I get to sample some from time to time and it’s always a different cake and it always becomes my new favourite cake. We distribute their cakes to a few locations on the Wirral. These have always got to be delivered as soon as possible, especially because of the extremely high temperatures we’ve had this summer 🤪. I am sure over the next few months more and more Wirral residents will become aware of Fancy Some Cake.
We don’t just deliver locally made cakes, we also deliver hand made chocolate courtesy of the Chocolate Cellar. Based in New Ferry and often seen at local events and markets across the Wirral and beyond the Chocolate Cellar is a must for all chocolate conisseurs. Exquisitely wrapped an order from the Chocolate Cellar would make the perfect gift. We have only started delivering for them within the last month, ensuring the product arrives in perfect condition largely due to the far less robust process we have for parcel delivery.
Safety Panda have used us to deliver their certificates for the many courses they offer to companies to improve safety and working practices. It’s always a great when we have customers who use our Gold class postal service. Delivery of these items starts immediately after collection and we currently deliver over 70% of these items the same day, and guranteed the following day. This is an aspect of our business that can be slightly overlooked due to the fact that people don’t often receive stuff and tell the sender that they have it. But we know from the businesses whose invoices we send out, how much quicker they are getting paid, sometimes well within an hour.
For our second year in business, we are hoping to set up post boxes in local businesses so that Wirral residents can start using our services and make huge savings on their local post. We are going to concentrate more on saving small local businesses money. We have wasted a large portion of last year chasing targets whose decision makers lie with a board, governors or a panel.
Trying to save schools money was something we spent a lot of effort trying to achieve. The take up has been overwhelmingly disappointing. We no longer need to be the hunter. Once the summer holidays hit we will be resetting our prices (apart from the schools already using us) to the same price for everyone.
At Christmas through our Christmas post box we will be raising money once again for a local charity. In 2025 we hope to extend these donations all year round maybe picking a charity every month. So the lower price that was offered to schools and charities will be replaced by donations to the schools and charities we deliver for primarily, and then suggestions for other charities will be considered.
I’d like to end the Anniversary blogs by thanking every one of our clients who in the last 12 months have trusted and put their faith in us to deliver their letters and parcels securely. By thanking every one of our clients customers who have ordered from these amazing local businesses.
It’s been an amazing first year and the outlook for next year is even more promising. Keep liking, keep sharing, keep praying for a sunny day this Summer. But whether the sun shines or the rain falls, it’s baking hot or freezing cold we will be out delivering for you.
Not just a postman.
